Background Check Policy and Procedure

Background Check Policy and Procedure

Netspective Unified Process

The Netspective Communications LLC requires all final candidates and any promoted employees to undergo a comprehensive background check for satisfactory results before receiving an employment offer.

Background checks will include:

  • Netspective Communications LLC validate the applicant’s date of birth and former addresses through Address Verification.
  • Netspective Communications LLC confirm the applicant’s employment with the listed companies, including dates of employment, position held, and additional information available regarding performance rating, reason for departure, and eligibility for rehire through Prior Employment Verification. This verification covers the past two employers or the previous five years, whichever comes first.
  • Netspective Communications LLC make calls to individuals listed as references by the applicant for Personal and Professional References.
  • Netspective Communications LLC confirm the applicant’s claimed educational institution, including the years attended and the degree/diploma received through Educational Verification.
  • Netspective Communications LLC review criminal convictions and probation as part of the Criminal History check. For applicants with a criminal history, we consider the following factors:
    • The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.
    • The time since the conviction.
    • The number of convictions, if there are multiple.
    • Whether hiring, transferring, or promoting the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees, or its customers and vendors.

Procedure

  • Final candidates must actively complete a background check authorization form and submit it to Human Resources. [Editor’s Note: In states that require an employment offer prior to conducting a background check, employers should require the completion of a background check authorization form at the time the offer of employment is extended.]

  • Upon receiving the signed release form, Human Resources will promptly initiate the background check by ordering it. The checks will be conducted by either internal HR staff or an employment screening service. A designated HR representative will thoroughly review all the obtained results.

  • The HR representative will inform the hiring manager about the outcomes of the check. In cases where negative or incomplete information is discovered, the appropriate management and the director of Human Resources will evaluate the potential risks and liabilities associated with the job requirements and make a decision on whether to proceed with hiring the individual.

  • The background check information will be kept in a separate file from employees’ personnel records for a minimum of five years.

  • Netspective Communications LLC retains the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice.
